Uniklinik Cologne - Excellent training for future professionals in the medical field

The medical faculty of the University of Cologne has a modern training centre with high-performance audio and video technology. At this centre, students practice patient-related conversations, treatments and operations and analyse their own behaviour by means of the video and audio recordings

The project

The " Cologne Interprofessional SkillsLab & Simulation Centre" consists of an operating theatre, two shock rooms, two emergency treatment rooms and six simulation training rooms for diagnostic interviews.  The training sessions are carried out with patients, students and actors instructed on specific topics. In the "director's room" the teacher chooses which sequences are to be recorded and made available for later analysis. Video and audio are collected in the training rooms via a pan/tilt dome camera in the centre of the room and four fixed cameras, so that different perspectives are available.
